Mr. Nunez also Owned Texas beef & Cattle Company a South Texas BBQ restaurant in the Wright Dunbar Historic District The most Historic Neighborhood in Ohio that was closed after the pandemic. For more than 2 decades he has supported the efforts to revitalize downtown Dayton through active participation in various committees and now as a property owner and investor this includes the Wright Dunbar historic District.
A native of Corpus Christi, Texas, Mr. Nuñez joined the U.S. Navy in 1984 and served over 7 years while discovering and nurturing an entrepreneurial spirit and pursuing a Economics and Social Psychology Degree. After separating from the armed forces in 1991, Mr. Nuñez continued his education and moved to Dayton in 1994.
James Nunez is an outspoken advocate and activist for a variety of causes and is a fearless supporter of those marginalized.
James began cycling in 1985 and has competed in dozens of centuries (100-mile rides) he switched to running in June of 2000 and has since completed 10 marathons and completed his first half marathon with three of his daughters. He continues to participate in endurance activities running and cycling albeit with less frequency.
